A Quiet Beginning, a Second Chance, and a Relationship Built Behind the Scenes
Ainsley Earhardt is more than just “Sunshine” on television. Fans of the Fox News anchor are learning more about her personal life, including her long-rumored relationship with fellow Fox host Sean Hannity — now confirmed as her fiancé — and the strength she’s shown through heartbreak, faith, and rebuilding.
In a recent interview, Earhardt revealed that Hannity calls her “Sunshine” every morning. “He calls me that because I’m always smiling,” she said. “And I wake up America.” From Private Struggles to a Public Connection. After years of privacy, Earhardt (48) and Hannity (63) publicly acknowledged their relationship and announced their engagement in late 2024.
Their connection grew through shared beliefs and mutual support during difficult times. Earhardt said she had not initially known that Hannity had gone through a divorce, as he kept it private. Earhardt, on the other hand, experienced a more public separation. She divorced former NFL quarterback Will Proctor in 2019. The couple had married in 2012 and welcomed their daughter, Hayden, in 2015, following a miscarriage.
“I always wanted to be married once — I’m a strong Christian,” she said. “But life doesn’t always go as planned.” Parenting, Balance, and Faith. Now living in New York City, Earhardt and Proctor co-parent their 9-year-old daughter. He handles school drop-offs while she takes care of afternoon pickups.
“I didn’t stay in the marriage just to stay married,” she said. “I wanted Hayden to be in a happy home.” Earhardt says her Christian faith and Hannity’s emotional support helped her through some of the most difficult periods in her life, including the loss of her mother in 2022. “Even in the darkest times, I saw God,” she said. “He lifted me up.”
A Long-Distance Relationship That Works
Although Earhardt is based in New York, she spends weekends with Hannity and her daughter at his home in Florida. “On Sundays after church, we have brunch before heading back,” she said. “I love my life in New York, too.”
The couple has said they plan to hold a private wedding with only their children in attendance. A prenuptial agreement will be part of their arrangement. Hannity shares two adult children with his ex-wife, Jill Rhodes. “Divorce happens,” Earhardt noted. “But it’s never romantic.”
A Supportive Love Story
Before their relationship became public, Hannity was a consistent support during Earhardt’s most difficult times. “He was there for me when I needed a friend,” she said. “I fell in love because we truly enjoy each other’s company.”
Although dating rumors began in 2020, they waited to go public until after receiving workplace approval. According to reports, Earhardt told her boss she was serious about the relationship. Now, with a new chapter ahead, she says she’s grateful. “Life is beautiful now, even when it’s a little chaotic,” she said. “I’m enjoying every moment.” And Hannity’s simple nickname — “Sunshine” — still starts her day with a smile.
