A four-part Netflix thriller called Bodies has taken viewers by surprise with how popular it’s become. Stephen Graham leads the cast, and the show has already been watched for more than 251 million hours.
The series jumps between four time periods, 1890, 1941, 2023, and 2053. In each one, a detective finds the same dead body in London’s East End, and their investigations start to overlap in strange ways.
All the timelines eventually connect through a mysterious character named Elias Mannix, played by Graham. Viewers have praised his performance, especially those who had already liked him in the gritty drama Adolescence.
One viewer called the show “absurdly enjoyable” and said they watched all eight episodes in under two days. Others said the story kept getting better and that the ending actually felt complete, which isn’t always the case with time travel shows.
The series is based on a graphic novel and was adapted for Netflix by Paul Tomalin. The whole thing was released in October 2023, and it’s still going strong in the streaming charts.
Bodies scored 82 percent with critics on Rotten Tomatoes and currently sits at a 7.3 on IMDB. Some viewers said the simple name might have made it easy to overlook, but the show itself left a strong impression.
All eight episodes of Bodies are now available to stream on Netflix, and fans online are still talking about it. If you like thrillers with a twist and don’t mind jumping around in time, this might be one to add to your list.
